Thanks to more powerful engines and DIRECT CONTROL for the steering, transmission and suspension it is also more dynamic than ever before. Trailblazing safety comes in the form of PRE-SAFE®, an anticipating occupant protection system.

Several of the E-Class engines have been upgraded. The E 200 KOMPRESSOR model, for instance, is noticeably more powerful with 15 extra kW's, whilst the new V8 unit which drives the E 500 delivers 285 kW (388 hp) and the flagship E 63 AMG model produces an impressive 378 kW (514 hp).
