Six-cylinder petrol engine

The engine’s efficiency results from a myriad of technological innovations. Among them is Valvetronic, which infinitely varies valve lift for rapid engine response. And the electric water pump, which is controlled according to the precise requirements of the engine – rather than rpm alone. The extensive use of aluminum and magnesium reduces weight and thus fuel consumption, as well as making the BMW Z4 more agile – for even more enjoyable performance and handling. Electric power steering.

The BMW Z4 Coupé's electromechanical power steering makes for an even more dynamic drive. A torque sensor assesses steering input and adjusts the steering to the driving situation, resulting in a more direct feel. For even greater steering feel, just press the "Sport" button. Activating sport mode reduces the level of assistance, enhancing the driving experience yet further.

Engineered for enjoyment - Dynamic Traction Control (DTC)

The standard Dynamic Traction Control system (DTC) increases slip at the driven wheels in order to ensure optimum traction on any surface. Only in critical driving situations does Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) intervene. Until then, the driver is left to discover the Z4's potential to the full. Space all year round
